Full-Time Logistics Operations Manager
Job Description
We are currently hiring a Logistics Operations Manager in Moncton, New Brunswick, to safely and effectively manage the logistics warehouse operation, ensuring optimal conditions are maintained to meet key performance indicators (People, Quality, Service, Cost) through effective planning and execution, both long-term and day-to-day.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Work with all departments, terminals, and customers to remove barriers in the movement of equipment and freight, including equipment planning and ensuring all dock equipment is in working order and arranging for the repair of anything that is not.
• Conduct formal warehouse tours to ensure teams are compliant with operational safety guidelines and monitor productivity stats about volume, planning and adjusting as needed.
• Work with the General Manager to forecast staffing needs based on increased volumes and customer forecasts.
• Attend any pre-planned meetings and events (i.e., transition meetings, daily review, safety meetings, employee events, return to work case conferences, etc.).
• Prepare reports as necessary for performance, customers, and employees.
Essential Competencies:
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated with analytical decision-making skills.
• Ability to lead a group or groups of people and communicate effectively with these groups.
• Ability to analyze situations, identify problems or conflicts, and negotiate win-win scenarios.
Working Conditions:
• Fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work variable shifts when required (days, nights, weekends, holidays) and longer shifts to cover gaps.
• A high volume of customer and driver communication, including via email and phone.
Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office (ability to prepare reports in Word and manipulate complex spreadsheets in Excel) required.
• Experience and understanding of the TruckMate and Logimax systems are considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Windows and basic IT troubleshooting skills are considered an asset.
